With ACC Emerging Teams Cup knocking one would expect Nepali Cricket Team spending hours on nets preparing for it.
The closed camp for the tournament kicked off 2 weeks back and a 15 man squad was named just a few days early. The team is also set to fly to Sri Lanka for the final brush up. With closed camps and practice sessions well on the way it would seem like the players are getting enough cricket before the tournament. But the bitter reality behind these is that the players haven't played any cricket at all-not even the net sessions, yet in this close camp.
With rain ruining TU's net area it was proposed by CAN that the closed camp for the initial 22 in such conditions would be shifted an indoor alternative-Shooting Range Hall, Satdobato. Cricket Association of Nepal started working on the indoor nets installment just few days ago, and would take few more days (3to 4, at earliest) for the indoor nets to be ready at Shooting Hall Range. Seeing the condition of hall it does not look it will be finished in few days though. In absence proper training facilities all players have been doing is working on their fitness in gym.
Nepali Cricket Team will leave for Sri Lanka on 1st of August meaning that the team will at most spend 10 mere days in indoor nets before they leave.
